Volunteers are the heart of of our organization and both develop and staff most of our events. We require all volunteers to participate in a volunteer training session to become oriented to our organization prior to volunteering for a class or event. Sign up for volunteer training and see what opportunities are available at our Volunteer Site or contact us at info@bugssonline.org to discuss how to get involved.

BUGSS offers several levels of membership for those who are interested in joining our community (full descriptions of all member benefits are available in our BUGSS membership agreement).

DIY Community Membership offers all of the benefits of lab access, course discounts, and free reagents. Volunteer hours are required.
Student membership offers participation in community projects or iGEM, but no course discounts or free reagents. Volunteer hours are required.
Friends of BUGSS are those who want to support and sustain our community.
    >For entrepreneurs who are looking for lab access without engaging in other community activities, see our Entrepreneur program

To join us as a member, select the membership type and payment frequency on out Membership page. In addition to paying online, please fill out the BUGSS membership agreement and contact Sarah Laun (slaun@bugssonline.org) to set up a New Member Orientation meeting.
