Join us Saturday October 5th at 10 am for a talk by famed sailor and explorer Matt Rutherford as he describes his latest expedition to collect samples of micro-plastic particles from the North Atlantic Gyre aka, the Sargasso Sea. Following Matts talk join us in the BUGSS lab from 11-2 where with direction from Ocean Research Project Field Scientist Nicole Trenholm we'll help process and classify the samples collected from their expedition. Come on over, and engage in citizen science! RSVP HERE.
Ocean Research Project is a small non-profit program with an expedition vessel the R/V Ault a sustainable sailing schooner based out of Annapolis. We alternate data collection projects both offshore in remote and extraordinary environments with site studies in our local waterways. We collect data to help scientists better understand the marine issues that we are facing and encourage sharing results and research participation with citizen scientists. Come on out and help us learn more about the plastics in our oceans. Please contact Tom at firstname.lastname@example.org or Nikki of Ocean Research Project email@example.com for more information.
BUGSS is a 501(C)3 charity. Please help keep BUGSS going!
